Tutorial 1 & 2

How do you feel about posting your views on the topic posted on Facebook Group Discussion Forum? Can you express your views freely?

It is very convenient as I use facebook almost everyday, I think almost all of my peers have facebook accounts. It is a very smart and fun way to let us be more interested in what we are learning and it helps to make it easier for us because then we won't have excuse to say things like 'So troublesome; Lazy lah!, Wa lau, this website like weird?!'

Yes, I think we can express our views freely and it have to do with our very relaxed lecturer for this module! She doesn't restrict us too much and I think its good as we can see from the answers, there is control and really decent input from the students, meaning no vulgarities and no senseless answers. I will post up some pictures soon. :) We can talk in this friendly manner, without worrying about the need to sound very formal and proper and this makes the learning fun.

How does this online discussion experience compared with traditional face-to-face in-class discussions?

I think for our class activity, it is almost the same because we are still all there and with just a turn of your chair, you can see your friend around you typing and responding. Comparing the online discussion experience, with traditional class discussions, I think both ways are good. Online discussion, is useful if we can't be there personally for meetings and discussion but it is also a way to 'cheat', for example asking someone else to impersonate you and help you go through lessons. Another bad thing about online discussion is the need for a network connection, if there is no connection, there can't be a discussion too. Traditional discussion is good too, for example in class, we discussed about the negative and positive impact of twitter, and as we rotate around to another group, we get to talk face-to-face with new friends and laugh with them as we present. It is definitely very real, and can't be faked and ensure learning motive. :)

Do you find this online activity meaningful? Why?

Honestly I think it is quite tedious to do so many reflections but I am not sure why I can still keep on talking and talking and talking about it. Maybe, I secretly enjoy school work although I complain alot. This online activity is meaningful to me, because after the module, I can look back and read my blog posts here and admire my robot blog template, hehe. :)

And here are the pictures:
